Every Harlan Coben Show on Netflix, and Where to Start

Last updated: August 30, 2026. This list is updated as Netflix adds new Coben adaptations.

None of these titles are available to rent or buy on Amazon — they're Netflix exclusives — so this post carries no affiliate links.

Netflix has an ongoing output deal with Harlan Coben, and the adaptations share a recognizable shape: an ordinary person's past resurfaces, someone goes missing, and short episode counts unspool escalating twists. This post covers every Coben adaptation currently streaming on Netflix in the US — ten titles as of this update — with a clear recommendation for where to start if you're new to them. Each entry notes whether the show stands alone. For a wider look at the platform, see our guide to what to watch on Netflix right now.

Start Here

If you haven't watched any of them, start with Fool Me Once. It's eight episodes, self-contained, and the most polished example of the Coben formula on Netflix — a settled life upended by a single impossible detail, a conspiracy that widens with each episode, and a resolution that ties the threads together. It was the most-watched show on Netflix globally in early 2024, and it's the adaptation that cemented the deal. If you want something shorter, Missing You runs five episodes and hits the same beats in less time. Both end cleanly, which matters when you're committing a weekend.

Every Coben Adaptation on Netflix

Organized by release date, newest first. All are limited series unless noted, and all stand alone — the Coben adaptations don't share characters or continuity.

I Will Find You (2026)

Eight episodes, premiered June 18, 2026. Sam Worthington, Britt Lower, Milo Ventimiglia, and Erin Richards. A father imprisoned for a crime he says he didn't commit gets word that his son may still be alive, and breaks out to find him. It drew 24 million views in its first week and 34 million the following week. Stands alone.

Run Away (2026)

Premiered January 1, 2026. James Nesbitt, Alfred Enoch, Ruth Jones, Minnie Driver, and Ellie de Lange. A father searching for his runaway daughter is pulled into a murder case after her friend is killed. As police and a private investigator pursue different leads, buried secrets threaten to tear his family apart. Limited series. Stands alone.

Missing You (2025)

Five episodes, premiered January 1, 2025. Rosalind Eleazar and Richard Armitage. A detective sees her missing fiancé's face on a dating app, years after he vanished, and the case pulls her back into old secrets and unresolved grief. As she investigates, the case draws her into questions about whom she can trust. Stands alone.

Fool Me Once (2024)

Eight episodes, premiered January 1, 2024. Michelle Keegan, Richard Armitage, Joanna Lumley, and Adeel Akhtar. After her husband's murder, an ex-soldier sees him on a nanny cam and starts digging. The investigation connects the footage to a wider conspiracy, family secrets, and older deaths. Stands alone.

Hold Tight (2022)

Polish-language limited series. A young man disappears shortly after his friend's death in an affluent suburb near Warsaw, and the community fractures as concerned families and investigators uncover strained relationships and lies that challenge their sense of safety. Stands alone.

Stay Close (2021)

Six episodes, premiered December 2021. Cush Jumbo, James Nesbitt, and Richard Armitage. A woman's buried past resurfaces when a man vanishes on the same date as another disappearance 17 years earlier, drawing a detective and several connected people into the mystery. Stands alone.

Gone for Good (2021)

French-language limited series. Ten years after losing two loved ones, a man's girlfriend disappears at his brother's funeral, drawing him into a mystery where buried secrets and complicated relationships make it increasingly difficult to know whom he can trust. Stands alone.

The Innocent (2021)

Spanish-language limited series, eight episodes. After an accidental killing, a man rebuilds his life with a new love, until a disturbing phone call pulls him back into a web of intrigue and murder. As the mystery deepens, different perspectives and buried connections gradually reshape what he thought he understood. Stands alone.

The Stranger (2020)

Eight episodes, premiered January 2020. Richard Armitage and Hannah John-Kamen. A stranger tells a man a secret about his wife that upends his life, and the fallout connects to a wider web of secrets in the community. The show that proved the Coben formula worked at scale on Netflix. Stands alone.

Safe (2018)

Eight episodes, premiered May 2018. Michael C. Hall and Amanda Abbington. A pediatric surgeon's teenage daughter disappears from their gated community, and his search uncovers secrets among the neighbors closest to him. The first Coben adaptation Netflix released, and the one that established the brand as a reliable weekend binge. Stands alone.

What They Have in Common

The formula is consistent across all ten. A settled life — a marriage, a family, a job — gets disrupted by something buried: a disappearance, a stranger with a secret, a face that shouldn't be there. The protagonist digs, and each answer widens the mystery rather than closing it. Episode counts run short (five to eight), which keeps the pacing tight and the twists frequent. Three of the ten are international productions — Spanish, French, and Polish — which Netflix produces under the same deal and releases with subtitles. The shows are built to binge in a weekend, and they end. The formula is a formula: if you don't like twists for their own sake, the appeal is limited. If you do, the consistency is the point.

If You've Watched Them All

Once you're through the Coben catalog, two directions. For the broader field, our list of the best thriller series streaming right now covers nine current picks across six services, including limited series that end cleanly. For something slower and colder, our guide to where to watch Nordic noir points to the Scandinavian thrillers that trade twists for atmosphere.

How StreamingBeam Helps

Coben's shows drop on Netflix without much warning, and the catalog grows as international adaptations are added. Ask the Beam can take a description — "the one where the husband shows up on the nanny cam" — and find the title without you having to remember the name. Watchlist alerts flag when any of these are set to leave Netflix, which matters because licensing windows move. Both are free with a StreamingBeam account.
